Death is a fearful enemy. Yet, in this broken world, Christians live with the assurance that physical death is not the end but rather the beginning. It ushers believers eternally into Jesus’s presence. For centuries, this belief dwindled to a mere whisper, fading into the background and overshadowing the lust of greed and sin. However, despite its fog, one fact remains— no one can kill the truth.

As war beyond war spreads globally, no soul can deny that something deeper is at play. This isn’t a normal year. It is a year for revival.

Whether it be politicized media or the grind, it always leaves us empty. Even in success, there is something further up, further in. This is a world where Jesus Christ is the centrality. What was once a whisper is now an evangelistic boom. It’s a culture shift. While breadcrumbs have been building closer to the eucatastrophe, an enormous milestone happened on Joe Rogan’s Podcast.

In the past, Joe Rogan interviewed anyone from a seemingly washed-up actor to a politician. These are interviews that, when one obsesses over, can become a spiritual disease. That’s why it struck the media when he brought a Christian Scholar on his show—Wesley Huff.

There’s beauty in the broader perspective. Fifty years ago, YouTube not only wouldn’t exist, but the idea of it would be a laughing stock for society. Ten years ago, if you told anyone there’d be more than media fed by sexualized and political fodder, they’d roll their eyes. Only last year, we saw a boom in Christian content. The screen in front of everyone’s face is a vehicle to share the gospel.

In the past year, small TikTokers grew into Christian-based podcasts such as Girls Gone Bible and Christ with Coffee and Ice. This isn’t a pointless analysis. It is overwhelmingly powerful evidence that the tools once dominated by Satan aren’t under the dominion of the evil one. It’s under the influence of where we place our hearts. The heart is more than emotion; it encompasses our values. This podcast was deeply theological but likely spread not because of apologetics but because of the reflection of Christian values within a defiled world.

Toward the end of the podcast, Huff made an excellent rebuttal to Rogan’s claim that you should follow Christianity because everyone who does is friendly. Huff dove into Jordan Peterson’s view on moralism, particularly the narrative Peterson spins on Jesus being a moral archetype. His response:

If Jesus is a moral example it actually misses what I think Jesus actually said about what his purpose was in that you can’t do enough to actually live up to the standard that God holds you to, and so if you keep striving you’re actually gonna wear yourself out and be exhausted.

Wesley Huff

While he is a linguist, the moralistic narrative spreads throughout his message. Every language he studies or theology he analyzes points back to the worldview of a culture, a people. At first glance, he is a historian for the sake of knowledge, but it goes deeper. It compares the writings, stories, and worship of societies who held themselves to moral archetypes and cultures who gave their heart to Jesus.

This is no different than Tolkien who was fascinated with culture. The legendary author implemented different religions for different people, strung with separate themes. Still, it all tied back to what mattered—Jesus carries the yoke we cannot carry.

There is both false and accurate information spread within the media, but more than that, there is arguably too much information. People are searching for truth. They’re tired of trying to live up to expectations. Moralism and materialism may have absorbed the media in past years, but there is a new tide—Jesus Christ.

I not only look forward to Wesley Huff’s channel growing but books, podcasts, and videos from Christians around the globe. It’s a beautiful thing to watch someone’s heart transform. In the Huff/Rogan podcast alone, I felt as if I saw Rogan’s heart change. Imagine if everyone had the same experience. Something big is coming, and, I for one, am excited.

We’ve seen the how and why, but ask yourself who? Who is behind it all? Jesus Christ! As Huff described in the quote above, Jesus shows us the standard we cannot match. We’ve seen it and found peace rather than seeking comfort from the next big trend. Times have changed for the better.

Know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the workers of the law, because by the works of the law no one can be justified. Galatians 2:16
